President’s Message

Jason Schoonover

Jason Schoonover, LCCA President

I am excited to have the privilege to serve as President again in 2017. As I look back over the past 12 months I am amazed at how much we, as an organization, have accomplished. I say “we” because all of the LCCA’s successes this past year have truly been a group effort. None of the LCCA’s accomplishments could have happened without a committed and dedicated board of directors, committee and council chairs, members and staff working together. My thanks to each one of you for the good work you have done this past year.

The National Association of Home Builders indicates that the current economy and housing trends are steadily rising—an encouraging sign that 2017 will bring new and exciting opportunities and growth in our Association. As our membership remained solid through 2016, and I fully expect membership growth as we enter 2017. Opportunities, however, quickly become regrets if they are not taken advantage, and the LCCA offers opportunities that no other association can offer. Let us make our top priority now and throughout the year to remind potential members what the benefits include when joining the LCCA whenever the situation presents itself, lest an opportunity becomes a regret.

So often we ask ourselves “What’s in it for me?” The answer lies simply in protection from legislative oversight at the local and federal levels; invaluable networking and referrals throughout the state; trusted insurance; along with the incentive of an R.O.I.I. program, to name just a few. Clearly, the LCCA does a lot for “me” – whether you are big or small, independently owned or are run by a board of directors; ultimately though, what we want with added members is to provide more for “us,” because without members we wouldn’t be here.

I encourage all of you to take advantage of networking events and various LCCA- sponsored functions, which will provide a great way to strengthen your business. 2017 looks to be a rewarding year full of growth and opportunity. I look forward to hearing from our board, as well as current and future members on ways to make it this happen. Thank you for this opportunity. Thank you for this challenge.
